History: Alexis Arguello was born on April 19, 1952 in Managua, Nicaragua. He won the WBA Featherweight Title on November 23, 1974 in a bout with Ruben Olivares. On January 28, 1978 he won the WBC Super Featherweight Title from Alfredo Escalera. He retired after a February 9, 1986 bout with Bill Costello with a final record of 80-6 with 65 KO's. On November 16, 1979 at the Fabulous Forum in Inglewood Alexis Arguello defended his world super featherweight title against Bobby Chacon. Arguello stopped Chacon in the 7th round. Presented here is the official California State Boxing license used by Arguello in for the Chacon fight in 1979.
