History: Abe and Monte Attell were brothers who fought at the turn of the 20th century. Abe won the featherweight championship and was one of the most notable fighters of the era. Probably best remembered for his role in the fixing of the 1919 baseball World Series due to his association with gangster/gambler Arnold Rothstein. Mnte Attell fought as a bantamweight and with two victories over Jimmy Walsh held a claim to the world title. Offered here is a rare original, cabinet card photograph of Abe Attell and Monte Attell in fight pose.
