JO Sports Inc.

Regular price $350.00

HISTORY: On September 13, 1950 at the Olympia Stadium in Detroit world middleweight champion Jake LaMotta defended his title against Laurent Dauthuille of France. LaMotta prevailed by knocking Dauthuille out in the 15th and final round. "All Dauthuille required when the bell sounded for the final round was to play safe, and had he boxed he would have come through triumphantly." It was a good fight for the first eleven rounds, but full of drama and excitement in the last four. The full account of the fight is in The Ring, November 1950, pages 8-9, 50.

Offered here is an original, fist generation, large format photo depicting action during this fight.
