HISTORY: Muhammad Ali was born on January 17, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky. He won the World Heavyweight Title from Sonny Liston on February 25, 1964. He announced his retirement in February of 1970 but was back in the ring later that October. He won the NABF Heavyweight Title On July 26, 1971 in a bout with Jimmy Ellis. He regained the World Heavyweight Title when he fought George Foreman in Zaire on October 30, 1974. He retired after losing to Trevor Berbick on December 11, 1981 with a final record of 56-5 with 37 KO's.
Dr. Waler Jacobs was commissioned by The Ring (Magazine) and their owner/editor Nat Fleischer to make cast fists of various world boxing champions.
Offered here is an original, right hand, plaster cast fist done by Dr. Walter Jacobs. It is signaficant as this was just prior to Muhammad Ali being stripped of his world heavyweight title and forced into a retirement which lasted three years.
FULL DESCRIPTION: This is an original, cast, right hand plaster fist of Muhammad Ali. The cast has some chipping at the index finger with slight pain and plaster loss. Signed on the underside, "C.CLAY 3/67 DR. W. JACOBS."Has a hook for hanging purposes at the wrist. Approximately 4 1/2" x 6." Letters of authenticity from Craig Hamilton and Mears.
