ARMSTRONG, HENRY-BARNEY ROSS ADVERTISING FIGHT ENVELOPE (1938)

On May 31,1938 at the Madison Square Garden Bowl in Long Island City, New York Henry Armstrong met Barney Ross for the Welterweight Title. Armstrong would take the title from Ross by a 15 round unanimous decision. Armstrong would hold the World Featherweight, Lightweight and Welterweight Titles simultaneously. Presented here is an original advertising fight envelope for the event which was originally scheduled to be held on May 26th.
This is an original, paper, illustrated, mailing envelope. Unused. Bold color and print. Bold, clear images. Front is clean. Some tape on reverse. Has a number of creases. Edge and corner wear. Very seldom seen. 4" x 9 1/2."
