On September 26, 1932 at Chicago Stadium in Chicago, Illinois future heavyweight champion Max Baer fough contender Tuffy Griffiths in the main event. Baer stopped Griffiths at 58 seconds of the 7th round to continue his rise in the division. From Chicago Tribune (Bob Soderman). Griffith was down in round six and narrowly avoided a knockout in round four, and suffered a bad beating. Offered here are the original fight contracts for this bout which have been signed by Max Baer and Tuffy Griffiths.
These are the original, one page, fight contracts, one for each fighter. Max Baer has signed his in ink along with a representative of Chicago Stadium. Gerald "Tuffy" Griffiths has signed his along with his manager and a representative of Chicago Satdium. Both have center folds. Bold type and bold, ink signatures. Minor edge wear. Paper clip compressions in upper letf corners. Legal sized to 8 1/4" x 14." Very scarce early Max Baer contract. Both have certifications from JSA.
