On October 7, 1927 at Madison Square Garden in New York future world heavyweight champion James J. Braddock, fighting as a light heavyweight, took on Joe Monte in a feature bout. Braddock and Monte fought to a ten round draw. In the main event world light heavyweight champion Mike McTigue defended his title against tough Philadelphia challenger Tommy Loughran Loughran won a unanimous 15 round decision and the title. Jack Delaney had given up the title July 26, 1927 cancelling his August 11, 1927 bout with McTigue. NYSAC named McTigue champion on July 26, 1927. Offered here is a very rare, original, official program for this event.
This is an original, official program which consists of 64 pages plus 4 page insert with pictures of McTigue and Loughran. Tight binding. Not scored. Insert has edge wear with a mild crease in lower right corner. Program has tape repair on back cover and pencil notation on front cover with some edge and corner wear. No creases. 7" x 10."
