BRADDOCK, JIMMY-TOMMY FARR WIRE PHOTO (1938)

On January 21, 1938 at Madison Square Garden in New York former heavyweight champion James J. Braddock fought Tommy Farr in the main event. At the end of ten rounds Braddock won a close ten round split decision. Referee Johnny McAvoy had it 4-4-2, but Braddock on points. This was Braddock's last professional fight. Offered here is an original wire photo depicting Farr throwing a right hand to the body of Braddock.
