On November 26, 1902 at Mechanic's Pavilion in San Francisco former lightweight champion Frank Erne fought Jimmy Britt in an important matchup. Britt prevailed and knocked Erne out in the 7th round. Britt claimed the "white" 135 pound title. Offered here is an original, first generation photograph taken by the notable Dana Studios depicting the two fighters in the ring squaring off before the fight began.
