CARPENTIER, GEORGES ORIGINAL WIRE PHOTO (1926)

Georges Carpentier (January 12, 1894 – October 28, 1975) was a French boxer. He fought mainly as a light heavyweight and heavyweight in a career lasting from 1908-26. Nicknamed the "Orchid Man", he stood 5 ft 11½ in (1.82 m) but his fighting weight ranged from 125 to 175 lb (57 to 79 kg). Carpentier was known for his speed, his excellent boxing skills and his extremely hard punch. Presented here is an original wirephoto from 1926 .
This is an original wirephoto of Carpentier from 1926. The photo measures 6 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches. There is a small tear and crease in the upper left hand corner. The lower right hand corner is also missing a small piece. The photo shows edge ware. The back has the attached wire info dated 1926. The image is vivid.
