On November 17, 1954 at the Cow Palace in San Francisco lightweights Jimmy Carter and Paddy DeMarco met in the featured match. Carter prevailed stopping DeMarco in the 15th round to reclaim the world lightweight title. DeMarco was knocked down in the 9th and 14th rounds.
