HISTORY: Rubin "Hurricane" Carter was and continues to be one of the great figures of controversy in the history of boxing. Never a champion, but recognized as one of the dangerous middleweight contenders of the 1960's his career was cut short when he stood accused and later convicted of murder in New Jersey. His life has been recently portrayed in film in the movie HURRICANE starring Denzel Washington. Presented here is a signed letter from Carter while in prison in 1972.
FULL DESCRIPTION: This is a signed letter by Rubin Carter while in prison in 1972.The letter measures 8 1/2 inches by 11 inches. The letter has light folds from mailing otherwise just minor wear to the edges and corners. The content of the letter is to a magazine editor regarding a story that was published that Carter liked. The signature is in ink and perfect. Dated 1972 in ink.
