CERDAN, MARCEL & GEORGES CARPENTIER WIRE PHOTO (1948)

On September 21,1948 Marcel Cerdan met Tony Zale at Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City, New Jersey with Zale's World Middleweight Title at stake. Cerdan won the bout decisively by 12th round TKO when Zale could no longer fight. Offered here is an original wire photo which depicts the two greatest French fighters of all time, Marcel Cerdan and Georges Carpentier, conversing at Cerdan's training camp on September 10, 1948 as Cerdan prepared for his fight with Zale.
