CHESTNUT, IKE ORIGINAL WIRE PHOTO (1959)

Issac "Ike" Chestnut was born in Birmingham, Alabama on October 12, 1928. His first professional fight was on January 5, 1983, a win over Cecil Schoonmaker. In his career he fought as a featherweight and fights with Sugar Ramos, Flash Elorde, Harold Gomes and Lauro Salas. He retired after losing to Marcel Bizien on November 27, 1963. His final record is 38-20-7. Ike Chestnut died on July 15, 1987. Offered here is an original wire photo of Ike Chestnut taken on April 27, 1959 while training for his fight with Ernesto Figueroa in Mexico City on May 2, 1959.
