HISTORY: Cassius Clay of Louisville, Kentucky at age 18 had earned a spot on the U.S. Olympic Boxing Team for the competition in Rome during the summer of 1960. Few experts thought the youthful and unorthodox Clay could seriously vie for a gold medal against the older, more experienced Europeans. This would prove to be among the first of many times in his career as Cassius Clay, and later Muhammad Ali that pundits would be proven wrong. Clay won all of his matches and earned a gold medal in the Light-Heavyweight Division. Presnted here is an official full ticket to the boxing event at the 1960 Olympics.
