CLAY, CASSIUS-SONNY LISTON I WIRE PHOTO (1964)

Cassius Clay fought Sonny Liston on February 26, 1964 in Miami Beach. Clay won by TKO in the 7th round to win the World Champsionship. This was one of the great upsets in the history of heavyweight boxing. Presented here is an original wirephoto depicting Clay holding Liston (illegally) behind the head and punching him in the eye.
This is a black and white original wirephoto with the wire service stamp on the reverse and the caption on the front. Good vivid image. Seldom seen shot. In fine condition. No creases, rips or tears. 6 3/4" x 9".
