DEFOREST, JIMMY BOXING LICENSE (1918-1919)

Jimmy DeForest was an early 20th Century trainer of such boxers as Stanley Ketchel, Harry Greb and Jack Dempsey. He later became a boxing matchmaker for the Polo Grounds. Offered here is an early New Jersey State Athletic Commission License for Jimmy Deforest as a referee for the period June 27, 1918 until May 1, 1919.
The license has Deforest's name written on it and is signed by the Secretary of the Commission. It also has the raised stamp of the cCommission. Has some mild staining. Edge and corner wear. Not creased. Blank back. 2 1/2" x 4."
