Billy Delaney was the Trainer for James J. Corbett and Manager/Trainer for James J. Jeffries. Delaney led Corbett to his title win over John L. Sullivan and led Jeffries to his win over Robert Fitzsimmons to win the heavyweight title. Delaney also trained Joe Choynski, Jimmy Britt and Al Kaufman. He trained Jack Johnson for his 1910 fight against Jeffries. Considered one of the greatest trainers at the turn of the 20th century.
