Jack Dempsey was born on June 24, 1895 in Manassa, Colorado. He defeated Jess Willard on July 4, 1919 to win the World Heavyweight Title and held the title until September 23, 1926 when he lost to Gene Tunney. In his career Dempsey fought and defeated Georges Carpentier, Luis Firpo, Tommy Gibbons and Jack Sharkey. Dempsey announced his retirement in February of 1928 with a final record of 64-6-9 with 49 KO's. Offered here is a hand colored, large format photograph of Jack Dempsey in full fight pose which dates to the 1930's.
This large format, hand colored photograph has Dempsey's name printed at the bottom and shows him as he looked as heavyweight champion. No creases or tears. The photo is applied to heavy board. Minor edge, corner and surface wear. Presents very well. 20" x 30."
