On November 28, 1966 at Madison Square Garden in New York world lightweight champion Carlos Ortiz defended his title against Gabriel "Flash" Elorde of the Philippines. In an exciting fight Ortiz prevailed stopping Elorde in the 14th round in front of a partisan crowd. Offered here is an original wire photo of Flash Elorde in his training camp on November 19, 1966 preparing for this fight. He is being greeted at his New York training facility by Dick Tiger.
