ELORDE, FLASH-FRANKIE NARVAEZ ORIGINAL WIRE PHOTO (1965)

On August 4, 1965 at Madison Square Garden in New York junior lightweight champion Flash Elorde fought Frankie Narvaez in a non title fight. Elorde won a very controversial ten round split decision. The decision caused a major riot with thrown chair and fire extinguisher axes. The rioting later spread to the streets as fans threw bricks from a demolished building across the street. Offered here is an original wire photo showing both fighters after the decision was announced.
