Luis Firpo was born on October 11, 1894 in Junin, Buenos Aires, Argentina. He won the South American Heavyweight Title on April 30, 1920 from Dave Mills. On September 14, 1923 he fought Jack Dempsey for the World Heavyweight Title but was knocked out in the 2nd round. He retired after losing to Arturo Godoy on June 11, 1936 with a final record of 32-6 with 26 KO's. Presented here is a vintage pin.
This pin is 3/4" in diameter and pictures a cartoon drawing of Firpo on the front. Along the edges is written, "Firpo" and "Ameca.Jal." The pin is intact and there is some soiling.
