HISTORY: On June 23, 1969 at Madison Square Garden in New York heavyweight champion Joe Frazier defended his title against Jerry Quarry. Frazier stopped Quarry in the 7th round. In between rounds 7 and 8 the referee stopped the fight because of the bad cut to Quarry's eye. This was the 1969 Fight of the Year named by Ring Magazine.
