HISTORY: On August 10, 1963 at Liberty Stadium in Ibadan, Nigeria middleweights Gene Fullmer and Dick Tiger fought for the vacant WBC Middleweight title. This was their third meeting. Tiger stopped Fuller in the 7th round to win the title. A crowd of over 35,000 produced a gate of $250,000. Tiger was guaranteed $100,000 and Fullmer $60,000. Fullmer's manager Merv Jensen asked to have the bout stopped after the seventh. This was Fullmer's last fight.

FULL DESCRIPTION: These are the fight worn trunks used by Gene Fullmer in this bout. Red stain trunks with white trim at the waistband and at the piping on each leg. At the center waistband there is a manufacturer's label for AMPRO LONDON. Signed on the upper left leg in gold pen, "Gene Fullmer." The trunks are well worn and blood stained. Intact with no holes. Appear to be a size Medium, but no legible size tag. Come with a photo of Fullmer wearing them in the fight and a signed letter from Gene Fullmer.
