On November 16, 1918 at the Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, California heavyweights Willie Meehan and Fred Fulton squared off in a 4 round battle. Fulton won the fight by 4 round decision. Fulton took the last three rounds busting up Meehan's face with his long left. Fulton nearly had Meehan out when the last bell rang. This was Meehan's first loss since beating Jack Dempsey. Offered here is an original, antique photograph showing the fighters and their seconds in the ring before the start of the fight.
