Regular price $115.00
On June 21, 1949 at Wilmington Park in Wilmington, Delaware middleweights Rocky Graziano and Bobby Claus battled in the main event. Graziano prevailed knocking Claus out in the 2nd round. Graziano was down for a count of two in the first, Bobby takes five nine counts before the ko. "I didn't know I was in a fight until I found myself on the floor" (Rocky Graziano). This was a brutal fight. Boxing promoter Ralph Tribuani acquired a license for Graziano, who was barred everywhere by the National Boxing Association and by the New York State Athletic Commission in New York, to fight in Delaware, which led to the NBA's and the NYSAC's reinstatement of Graziano. Offered here is an original wire photo depicting 2nd round action.
