HISTORY: On March 17 (ST. Patrick's Day), 1910 at the Lancaster Athletic Club in Lancaster, Pennsylvania middleweights Leo Houck and Joe Hirst fought in the featured bout. These two had fought twice previously in the past six months with Hirst coming out on top in both matches. In this fight Houck won a decisive six round decision. The Item reported that Houck won this fight decisively on newspaper decision. The Record also gave it to Houck.
Leo Houck would go on to have an impressive career with notable victories over Gunboat Smith, Willie Meehan, Johnny Wilson, Harry Lewis, Frank Klaus, Battling Levinsky, George Chip, and Billy Papke. He also went the distance losing three fights to the great Harry Greb and two fights with Gene Tunney.
