James J. Jeffries was born on April 15, 1875 in Carroll, Ohio. He won the World Heavyweight Title on June 9, 1899 from Bob Fitzsimmons. He retired after losing to Jack Johnson on July 4, 1910, his only loss, with a final record of 18-1-2 with 15 KO's. Offered here is an original, color postcard of Jim Jeffries posing as referee of the Boxing Carnival at Chutes Park in Los Angeles between April 18th and 25th, 1908.
Thisn is an original color postcard issued by H.H.Stratton of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Unused. Clean front and back. Bold color and sharp image. Crease in lower right corner. Minor edge wear. Some scratching at lower center border. 3 1/2" x 5 1/2."
