On May 23, 1987 (postponed from May 3rd) at National Stadium, Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago world light heavyweight champion Marvin Johnson made his 2nd title defense, against the man he won it from, Leslie Stewart. Stewart dominated from the outset knocking Johnson down twice in the first round and ending it in the 8th round when Johnson's corner stopped the action after the 8th round ended.
