Stanley Ketchel, "The Michigan Assassin," began his professional career on May 2, 1904 with a one round knockout of Kid Tracy in Butte, Montana. Ketchel would win the vacant World Middleweight Title on May 9, 1908 stopping Jack "Twin" Sullivan in 20 rounds in Colma, California. Ketchel was stopped in 12 rounds by Jack Johnson on October 16, 1909 in an attempt to win the World Heavyweight Title. Posted career wins over Billy Papke, Hugo Kelly, Philadelphia Jack O'Brien and Joe Thomas. Shot and killed on October 15, 1910 in a dispute over a woman.
