On December 12, 1907 at Recreation Park in San Francisco middleweights Stanley Ketchel and Joe Thomas met in the main event. This was third consecutive time Ketchel had met Thomas. The first ended in a draw and the second ended with Ketchel winning in 32 rounds to claim the world welterweight tile. In this encounter Ketchel again prevailed winning a 20 round decision. After the bout Ketchel claimed the world middleweight tile. Offered here is an original, first generation photograph, taken by the notable Dana Studios, depicting the two fighters squaring off before the fight began.
