LAMOTTA, JAKE-TIBERIO MITRI ORIGINAL WIRE PHOTO (1950)

On July 12, 1950 World Middleweight Champion Jake LaMotta made his first title defense against rugged Tiberio Mitri at Madison Square Garden in New York. LaMotta banged out a 15 round decision to retain the crown he had taken from Marcel Cerdan in 1949. Presented here is an antique original wirephoto from this bout showing Mitri delivering a right hand to the body of LaMotta.
