HISTORY: On May 23, 1947 at Madison Square Garden in New York light heavyweights Gus Lesnevich and Melio Bettina headlined the boxing show. Lesnevich dominated and knocked Bettina out in the first round. Bettina was down three times. On the final knockdown, the referee waved off the count. This set a new record for the fastest knockout in a main event at Madison Square Garden.
