Jimmy McLarnin was born on December 19, 1906 in Inchacore, Ireland. He won the World Welterweight Title in a bout against Young Corbett III on May 29, 1933. He retired after fighting Lou Ambers on November 20, 1936 with a final record of 63-11-3 with 20 KO's. Presented here is an original wire photo dated May 25, 1931 depicting McLarnin in Orangeburg, New York preparing for his upcoming fight with Billy Petrolle.
