Charlie Mitchell was born on November 24, 1861 in Birmingham, England. He was a heavyweight contender in the 1870's and 1880's and fought Jake Kilrain, John L. Sullivan, and Jim Corbett during his career. Presented here is antique photo of Mitchell.
This antique photo measures 5 3/4 inches by 7 1/2 inches.The photo has some edge nicks and a crease in the lower right corner.The upper left hand corner is starting to peel from the backing.There is a crease on the bottom edge.The back has writing in pencil and a partial sticker.The name T. Webster is written in ink at the bottom.The image is somewhat faded.
