ROBINSON, SUGAR RAY-GENE FULLMER WIRE PHOTO (1957)

On May 1, 1957 Sugar Ray Robinson battled Middleweight Champion Gene Fullmer at Chicago Stadium in Chicago. Robinson had lost the title to Fullmer in January by 15 round decision. He won the rematch by knocking Fullmer out in 5 rounds. The punch that stopped Fullmer, a vicious and perfect left hook, was voted by Ring Magazine the best knockout of the past 50 years. Presented here is an antique wirephoto of Sugar Ray Robinson and Gene Fullmer from this bout.
This antique wirephoto from the Robinson-Fullmer bout is 7" x 9." There are small creases in the corners and along the edges. Clean image with no rips or tears.
