ROBINSON, SUGAR RAY & GEORGE GAINFORD & SOLDIE JONES WIRE PHOTO (1950)

On December 22, 1950 at the Palais des Sports in Paris, France welterweights Sugar Ray Robinson and Robert Villemain fought in the main event. Robinson stopped Villemain in the 9th round. A barrage of lefts and rights in round nine floored Villemain and when he got to his feet the referee stopped the fight. Offered here is an original wire photo depicting Robinson with trainers George Gainford and Soldier Jones leaving Paris on December 27, 1950.
