Sugar Ray Robinson was born on May 3, 1921 in Detroit, Michigan. He won the World Welterweight Title in a bout with Tommy Bell on December 20, 1946. On February 14, 1951 he defeated Jake LaMotta to win the World Middleweight Title. He retired on December 10, 1965 with a final record of 175-21-6 with 2 no contest's and 110 KO's Garnett "Sugar" Hart was a National amateur champion and fan favorite never fought for a pro title but battled Charley Scott in one of the all-time great Philadelphia wars
at Convention Hall in 1959.Presented here is a wirephoto of the two working out.
