ROSS, BARNEY-JIMMY MCLARNIN PRESS PASS (1935)

On May 28, 1934 at the Madison Square Garden Bowl in Long Island City, New York welterweight champion Jimmy McLarnin defended his title against Barney Ross. Ross won a close 15 round split decision to win the title in front of 60,000 fans. Offered here is a rare, original, press pass for this event which was used to gain admittance to the arena.
This is an original Press Pass which names the fighters, date and venue and which includes a section, row and seat number. Name of Press member lightly written on left edge. Bold color and print. One spot at bottom, otherwise clean. Minor edge wear on back. Irregularly shaped to 2 7/8" x 3 1/8."
