ROSS, BARNEY-JIMMY MCLARNIN WIRE PHOTO (1934)

On May 28, 1934 at the Madison Square Garden Bowl in Long Island City, New York Jimmy McLarnin and Barney Ross fought for the World Welterweight Title. McLarnin, in his first defense of the title he won a year earlier, lost a very close 15 round decision and the title to Ross. Presented here is an original wirephoto of Jimmy McLarnin congratulating Barney Ross after the fight.
This original wirephoto of Barney Ross and Jimmy McLarnin is 8" x 10." The corners are slightly soft and there are small creases along the edges and there are some light spots in the upper left side. There is a small rip in the upper right side.
