ROSS, BARNEY-TONY CANZONERI ORIGINAL ACTION WIRE PHOTO (1933)

On September 12, 1933 at the Polo Grounds in New York Barney Ross defended his junior lightweight and lightweight titles against veteran and highly skilled Tony Canzoneri. Ross won a close 15 round split decision. Canzoneri lost 6th, 8th & 9th because of low blows. The official scorecards were 8-7 for Canzoneri and 9-2-4 and 8-4-3 for Ross.
