ROSS, BARNEY WIRE PHOTO

Barney Ross was born on December 23, 1909 in New York City, New York. He won the World Lightweight and World Junior Welterweight Titles on June 23, 1933 from Tony Canzoneri. He won the World Welterweight Title on May 28, 1935 from Jimmy McLarnin. He retired after losing to Henry Armstrong on May 31, 1938 with a final record of 74-4-3 with 22 KO's. Presented here is an original wirephoto of Barney Ross being greeted by Mayor Kelly on his return from defeating McLarnin.
This original wirephoto of Barney Ross is 5 1/4" x 7 3/4." The corners are slightly soft and there is a small crease in the upper right side. Clean image with no rips or tears.
