HISTORY: Tom Sharkey was born on November 26, 1873. During his career he fought Jim Corbett, Bob Fitzsimmons and Jim Jeffries among others. He fought Jim Jeffries for the heavyweight title in 1899 but lost the decision after 25 rounds. Presented here is an original, circa mid 1890's, first generation, boudoir cabinet photo of Tom Sharkey by the notable De Youngs Photographers of New York.
