Regular price $800.00

HISTORY: On March 1, 1983 at the Civic Center in Baltimore, Maryland heavyweights Earnie Shavers and George Chaplin headlined the boxing show. Chaplin won by disqualification in the 9th round. The referee stopped the bout and disqualified Shavers for a series of low blows. Shavers was deducted a point in the third and two points in the ninth. The 30-year-old Chaplin controlled the bout from the opening bell, scoring with combinations as Shavers attempts to land powerful uppercuts missed wildly. Shavers returned to his corner bleeding from the left nostril following the opening round. The 38-year-old Shavers entered the bout badly out of shape, weighing in officially at 215 pounds. He had been well behind on points when he was disqualified, having lost every round.
