Bud Taylor is an all-time great, though he was never Lineal Champion. Bud grew up in a rough neighborhood and learned to fight as a boy. He was a tough fighter with great stamina and a heavy right hand punch. Two men died following fights with Taylor: Frankie Jerome and Clever Sencio He defeated, among others: Eddie Santry, Phil Rosenberg, Midget Smith, Abe Goldstein, Jimmy McLarnin, Phil Zwick, Pete Sarmiento, Joey Sangor, "California" Joe Lynch, Young Nationalista, Young Montreal, Eddie Shea, Chick Suggs, Tony Canzoneri, Santiago Zorilla, Battling Battalino, and Benny Bass Nat Fleischer ranked Taylor as the #5 All-Time Bantamweight; Charley Rose ranked him as the #9 All-Time Bantamweight; Taylor was elected to the Ring Boxing Hall of Fame in 1986.Presented here is an antique wirephoto.
