On January 31, 1906 at Colma, California welterweights George Herbert and Joe Thomas squared off in an important division matchup. Thomas prevailed stopping Herbert in the 10th round. Offered here is an original, first generation, antique photo taken by the notable Dana Studios depicting the two fighters squaring off before the fight.
