HISTORY: "California" Jackie Wilson was born George Dudley Wilson on January 17, 1918. He fought as a welterweight out of Los Angeles from 1936 until 1949. He won the California Welterweight Title. In his career he fought notable welterweights including Young Peter Jackson, Baby Arizmendi, Pete Lello, Tommy Bell and Sugar Ray Robinson (twice). He passed away at the age of 38 on March 10, 1956.
