Lou Woods was a middleweight fighter from Detroit who fought between 1941 and 1950. He compiled a record of 39-10-0. He fought some of the best middleweights in the world including George Costner, Jake LaMotta, Tony Zale and Sugar Ray Robinson. Sgt. Lou Woods was a Camp Grant, IL, Army boxing instructor during World War II. Offered here is an original album page signed by Lou Woods. From the collection of former Boxing Illustrated writer Ralph Pollack who had the album page signed by Lou Woods in the mid 1940's at Stillman's Gym in New York City.
This is an original paper album page. Bold ink signature, "Best Wishes to you Ralph "Lou" Woods." Clean with only light toning from aging. Not creased or torn. Slight edge wear. 4 3/8" x 5 1/4."
