Georges Carpentier fought Jack Dempsey for the Heavyweight Title on July 2,1921 in front of over 80,000 people in Jersey City. Dempsey would go on to win the fight in 4 rounds. This was the first million dollar gate in boxing history. Offered here is an original wire photo depicting Carpentier shaking hands with a member of the promotional company running the fight on June 29, 1941.
