On April 5, 1915 in Havana, Cuba World Heavyweight Champion Jack Johnson fought Jess Willard. Under a grueling sun the two fought for 26 rounds when suddenly the giant Jess Willard stopped the aging Johnson with a hard straight right hand. Johnson later claimed to have thrown the fight, but most ring historians dismiss this claim. The fight was of great note. Offered here is an original premium photograph made up shortly after the fight to depict action during the bout. The images are imposed in a ring with crowd looking on by the photographer C. Lima.
This is an original, 1915, premium photograph done by C.Lima photographer in which he imposes images of the fighters in a ring with crowd looking on. Done on photo paper with a matte finish. Small crease in lower left corner. Small stain at upper right corner. Closed tear on upper left corner. Wear in corners with small paper loss at lower right corner. Images are bold and clear, Clean. 7 1/2" x 10." Rare, the only example we have seen.
